Upcoming Concert: Feeling Good!
Mill Creek Colliery Band
“Feeling Good!”
Saturday, October 29, 7:30pm
The Mill Creek Colliery Band is feeling good as it kicks off its 21st season. The band is pleased to present “Feeling Good!“, a concert to be performed on Saturday, October 29, 7:30pm, at All Saints’ Anglican Cathedral (10035 – 103 Street NW, Edmonton).
Edmonton’s own 28-piece brass band will present a delightful program of music that will include the sizzling Florentiner March, Leonard Bernstein’s classic Candide Overture, Canadian composer Morley Calvert’s well-loved Canadian Folk Song Suite, and Ukrainian Dances, arranged by the band’s former conductor and Juno Award-winning Canadian composer, Malcolm Forsyth. Principal trombonist Julien Simard will be featured in a brilliant arrangement of one of Michael Bublé’s iconic songs, Feeling Good, and Troy Turner (baritone) will be featured in Andrew Scott’s lyrical gem, Film. The band’s cornet section will have you dancing in your seats with a rendition of the World War II era jump-blues song, Boogie
Woogie Bugle Boy. The band will be led by principal conductor, David Hoyt. As usual, the popular door prize draw will be held after the intermission.
We care deeply about our audience. Although there are no mandatory public health measures, masking and spacing is encouraged to reduce risk of sharing the misery brought on by the Covid-19 and common cold ‘bugs’ that currently plague our community. Hand sanitizer and wipes will be provided. The duration of the concert will be 100-110 minutes and there will be a 20-minute intermission. Parking is available next to the venue.
We hope that you can join the band for an entertaining evening of music.
Tickets are $25 (students/seniors $20). Free admission for those under 18 years.
Tickets are available at the door (cash or credit card accepted), or in advance through TIX ON THE SQUARE [Charge-by-phone 420-1757 or on-line at www.tixonthesquare.ca]
